Cedar Plank Salmon - Jim

This is also great with trout.

Ingredients

1 cedar plank or shingle (you can buy a whole pack of shingles at Rona or Reno Depot for @ $6)
1 large salmon fillet or several small ones (skin on or not doesn’t matter)
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup soya sauce
½ lemon squeezed

Directions

1. Marinate salmon in maple syrup, soya sauce and lemon overnight
2. Soak cedar shingle in water overnight. (I put the shingle in a pan of water with a weight on it to keep it from floating up). This ensures the shingle will steam and not burn when on the BBQ.
3. Preheat the BBQ on high.
4. Put the salmon on the shingle and place on BBQ. Cook for 8-10 minutes on med-high. Salmon will steam, and the edges should crisp just a bit.

This is great with baby potatoes and summer salad.
